A Message From the Director

38% of the students in the Swanson School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh identify as women.  These women receive an undergraduate degree in engineering, consistently ranking within the top 5 universities in the U.S. as one of the best colleges for graduating women in engineering. We established this formal program as a catalyst to support our current students to learn more about women-centered programs and initiatives. We are committed to the recruitment and retention of this population but encourage all students, regardless of gender identity, to take advantage of our programs. Recognizing the importance of intersectionality, we are also a strong supporter of all underrepresented populations in engineering. We strive to maintain a close relationship with our alumnae and provide outreach opportunities to young girls interested in the STEM fields as they navigate the profession of engineering. Come be a part of the empowerment of women who want to make an impact on the world around us!
