Prospective Students
Admission to the Swanson School of Engineering is managed by the University's Office of Undergraduate Admissions. All first-year engineering students begin in a shared first-year program before declaring a major. For information about applying to Pitt, visit:

First-Year Engineering Students
Students in the first-year engineering program are eligible to declare Electrical Engineering after completing the first-year curriculum with a cumulative QPA of at least 2.0. Application deadlines for program declaration are:
- July 15 for fall
- November 15 for spring
- March 15 for summer
