Why you chose Pitt:

I grew up in a pretty small town, and I had always wanted to live in a city. I decided to go to the University of Pittsburgh because the school had everything that I was looking for – a big student body, an urban campus, competitive academics, and students who love the city of Pittsburgh just as much as I do! Pitt has such a fun and friendly atmosphere, and there is always something to do. I can’t imagine myself anywhere else!

Advice to First Year Engineering Student:

Don’t be afraid to ask for help! College is very different from high school, so if you don’t do as well as you expected, remember there are tons of resources you can take advantage of to help you succeed. Talk to your professors, form study groups, and get involved in as much as you can. Freshman year is such a great time to meet new people and learn new things, so enjoy every moment!

Extracurricular involvement and or Future Goals:

In addition to being an Engineering Ambassador, I am involved in Pitt Ballet Club and Society of Women Engineers (SWE). In the future, I plan on participating in the co-op program and studying abroad. Currently, I think I would love to work in the consumer goods industry as a chemical engineer, but I look forward to exploring other areas during my time at Pitt!
