Why you chose Pitt:

I chose Pitt because of the many study abroad opportunities for engineers. I admired many of the extracurricular activities that Pitt had to offer, such as study abroad programs, research projects, and clubs/organizations, that would enhance my undergraduate experience.

Advice to a First Year Engineering Student:

My advice to a First Year Student would be to find a way to relieve stress because Freshman engineering at Pitt can be intense. This could be working out, joining a club, or grabbing dinner with friends. It helps to schedule time away from your coursework to eliminate stress.

Extracurricular involvement and Future Goals:

The summer after my freshman year, I studied abroad in Germany as a part of the Plus3 program. This gave me the opportunity to learn about the automotive industry on a global scale alongside other freshman engineering and business students. After my return to Pittsburgh from Germany, I participated in the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation Undergraduate Research Program where I conducted research focused around sustainability. My freshman year, I lived in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community, and I lived in the Upperclassmen Engineering Living Learning Community my sophomore year. I enjoyed living around other students with common interests and classes. I am also involved with the Society of Women Engineers and Phi Sigma Rho, a national social engineering sorority. My future goal is to pursue a PhD in robotics or mechatronics, which is a blend of mechanical and electrical engineering.
