Why did you choose Pitt?
I chose Pitt because of how welcoming and inclusive the community was. I knew that I would succeed at Pitt because every student and staff member wanted me to and would work with me to get there. There was no sense of competition between students and I knew I would meet a second family here. Although Pitt is a big school, being inside SSOE makes it smaller and more comforting.
Advice for First-Year Engineering Students
Reach out and make friends with at least one person in every class. Most likely you will need help on homework or want someone to study with, and working with a classmate makes it so much easier. Along with that, you will probably have lots of classes with that person!
