The Nanoionics and Electronics Lab uses ions as an active device component that makes possible new electronic devices with functionalities that cannot be achieved using conventional materials. Examples include a monolayer electrolyte for non-volatile memory, an ionomer that induces the semiconductor to metal phase transition, and electric-field sensitive electrolytes for hardware security.
