Annual First-Year Engineering Conference
Each year, as part of ENGR0012 and ENGR0716, the entire First-Year Engineering class at the University of Pittsburgh participates in a professional-style conference. Each student in ENGR0012, as part of a team, prepares a conference research paper. This
paper is the completion of a semester-long writing project. Students in ENGR0716 design capstone projects in teams that research and innovate a novel solution to a real-world problem. At the conference, they present and demonstrate their prototypes.
Students in both ENGR0012 and ENGR0716 present their papers or projects to their peers, alumni, family and faculty.
2021 will be the twentieth year of the conference, and the entire School of Engineering is looking forward to seeing the outstanding work of this year's students. We highly encourage parents and guardians to come join us on the day of the conference to
see the transformation that their child has made in just one year under the direction of the First-Year Engineering Faculty and Staff.
This year, our First-Year Engineering Conference will be held virtually.
