Industry
Industry is at the heart of AMPED. The consortium exists to support the soft magnetics and electric power industries with talent, technical support, and research, and industry guides and funds that work in return. Membership funding supports graduate student research in areas that matter to members, and members help set priorities through strategic planning and project prioritization. There are three ways to take part:
- Full Participants sign a participant agreement and pay a participation fee. Participants contribute to research roadmapping and center initiatives, have project voting rights to help direct funds to the projects of most interest, receive early reports on research results, attend technical seminars, and are recognized on the AMPED website as Founding Participants.
- Consortium Advisors attend technical seminars, provide input toward research roadmapping (without voting rights), and are recognized on the AMPED website as Consortium Advisors.
- Charitable Contributors, including equipment and software suppliers, receive tax benefits, inclusion in promotional materials, attendance at technical seminars, and recognition on the AMPED website as Equipment Suppliers.
All members take part in AMPED’s community of industry, university, and national laboratory partners, which includes monthly technical seminars with students and industry partners, an annual workshop, collaborative proposals and sponsored research, engagement in standards committees, and fee-for-service testing in AMPED’s laboratories. Participation also provides a pipeline of students for internships and hiring.
