The Department believes that actively designing and implementing a Translational Research program will lead to the following benefits while meeting the goal of helping humanity lead better lives:
- Provide a road map to accelerate commercialization of university-based life science innovation
- Help develop university biomedical innovations to a critical endpoint
- Attract follow-on funding from investors/industry
- Create high paying jobs and increase the biomedical industry infrastructure in the region
