PittServes

The Office of PittServes engages students in meaningful service to the community on a local, national, and international scale. Their focus on sustainability, education, and community development increases student community service and broadens the impact of the university.

Visit the Volunteer Portal to learn about ways to get involved in current projects, start your own initiatives, or engage as a community partner.

PittServes and Sustainability

PittServes launched the Student Office of Sustainability to ensure that students have the ability to impact their campus and their community through sustainable efforts. Visit 510 in the William Pitt Union to learn more about sustainability efforts on campus and ways to be involved!

Examples of PittServes initiatives include:

Pitt Pantry

PittServes is committed to ensuring that all students have regular access to healthy food options. In partnership with the Bellefield Presbyterian Church (4001 Fifth Ave), Pitt students experiencing food insecurity can visit the Pitt Pantry to select items of need. The Pitt Pantry was created with the generous support of University of Pittsburgh Housing, Sodexo, and donations from the university staff and greater Pittsburgh community.

University of Thriftsburgh

Pitt's first student created and student run thrift store! Thriftsburgh will recycle and upcycle materials to lessen our environmental impact as a university!

Green Team

The Green Team is made up of student eco-ambassadors assisting with green-certified events and helping to spread the word about sustainability initiatives across campus.
