Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition
Created in 1994, the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (CNBC) is a joint venture of the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University that leverages the strengths of the University of Pittsburgh in basic and clinical neuroscience and those of Carnegie Mellon in cognitive and computational neuroscience.
Neuromechanics Lab
The Neuromechanics Lab is a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative research group based at Emory focused on understanding how we move. We seek to understand principles of biomechanics, neurophysiology, and rehabilitation, using experimental and computational methods drawn from physiology, robotics, mechanics, control theory, and machine learning.
Collaborator Sites
Dr. Amy Bastian
Dr. Amy Bastian is the chief science officer at Kennedy Krieger Institute, a role in which she identifies and promotes new directions for breakthrough research into the developing brain, spinal cord, and musculoskeletal system.
Human Movement & Balance Laboratory
Housed in the Department of Bioengineering and situated in Schenley Place at the University Pittsburgh, HMBL is designed and equipped to analyze the dynamics of human motion ranging from gross movement involved in gait to finger/hand movements during typing.
