The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Program gives Pitt students, staff, and faculty across every school and discipline the space, tools, and mentorship to build something real. Through hands on courses, dedicated makerspaces, and guided projects with industry partners, participants move from first sketch to working prototype and, often, to a launched product or company. Whatever your background, if you want to make something, there's a place for you here.
Makerspaces
Hands-on spaces in Benedum Hall open to any Pitt student, staff, or faculty member for design and prototyping.
IDEA Lab
A design and prototyping studio led by professional staff, incorporating students into real world projects for hands-on engineering experience.
XProjects
Immersive, fast-paced projects where students learn project management, communication, and prototyping skills as part of a team.
Certificate
An interdisciplinary certificate in design, prototyping, and entrepreneurship, open to qualified undergraduates across schools.
