LinkedIn for Faculty

Among our initiatives to increase the Swanson School’s visibility and reach, the Office of Marketing and Communications includes LinkedIn as a key platform. LinkedIn continues to be one of the most effective spaces for engaging peers, current and prospective students, alumni, and policymakers. 

Here’s how you can help strengthen our collective presence: 

• Update your profile. 
Ensure your current title and affiliation reflect the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering. 

• Tag the School and your department. 
When posting about your research, teaching, media features, or public service, simply type @University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering to tag us. This enables us to see, share, and amplify your work through our official page as well as department pages. 

• Engage with our posts. 
A quick like, comment, or repost from you meaningfully increases visibility and reach. 

• Encourage your grad students to do the same! 

By using LinkedIn strategically, we can elevate our faculty as thought leaders and trusted voices across engineering, public service, and innovation. This is also an important component of the University's Research Matters initiative with the School of Medicine.
