Engineering Advertising Gold
Four campaigns developed by the Swanson School of Engineering’s Office of Marketing and Communications (MarComm) were recognized with this year's Collegiate Advertising Awards (CAA), a program honoring higher education organizations for excellence in communications, marketing, advertising, and promotions of their schools across the nation. The Swanson School bested last year's tally and earned three Gold and one Silver award in the 2025 competition.
Among the honorees is the GRO Recruitment Campaign, which promotes the Swanson School’s first-of-its-kind Bachelor of Science in Natural Gas, Renewables, and Oil Engineering – the only undergraduate program of its kind in the nation.
The 2025 CAA program received entries representing institutions ranging from small community colleges to very large schools and universities across the United States and Canada. Submissions were reviewed by a national panel of industry experts, with a possibility of 100 total points. The Swanson School’s entries were part of the School Category of 2,001–5,000 students.
Awards were issued for entries that received top marks from judges, placing them in the top 16 percent of the nation for advertising excellence. Judging criteria included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality, and overall appeal.
