Isabella Keller

My name is Isabella Keller and I’m a Materials Science and Engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh with a growing focus on nuclear engineering, extreme environments, and sustainable solutions. My academic journey is supported by the pursuit of a Nuclear Engineering Certificate, a Math Minor, and of Global Distinction, reflecting my commitment to both technical depth and global awareness. My hands-on experiences range from conducting research on AI Integration in Digital Twin Technology for Process Optimization, to studying sustainable engineering practices in the Netherlands through the PLUS3 study abroad program. These opportunities have shaped my understanding of how materials science intersects with cutting-edge technology, policy, and environmental responsibility. I’m now looking to further expand my knowledge through a research position in Dr. Sakurahara’s RARE Lab Group that allows me to dive deeper into nuclear applications and sustainability-focused innovation. With a strong foundation in computational tools and engineering analysis, a global perspective, and a deep curiosity for science at the extremes, I’m eager to contribute to impactful, forward-thinking engineering research.
