The John A. Swanson Center for Product Innovation has been assisting industry and education since 1999.
The Center was designed to give industry and entrepreneurs access to the University's state-of-the-art product development technology through the consulting services of our talented students, world-class faculty and dedicated technical staff members. The HSE Laser System is Kern’s entry level large format model. A wrap around gantry traverses over the cutting bed allowing for finished parts to be easily removed at all sides of the machine. The moving gantry features high speed servo motors and a flying optics beam delivery providing consistent beam power and quality over the entire work area. The HSE machine is well known as a highly productive laser system offered at an economical price.
The Blue M ESP-400 Mechanical Convection Horizontal Air Flow Oven provides you with reliable performance. The ESP-400 convection oven is ideal for constant temperature work and for applications where fast run-up and cool-down rates are required. A one-pass air flow system allows incoming air to pass over the heaters and through the work chamber only once, if desired, enabling fast cool down or quickly venting non-hazardous fumes or moisture.
The 5/01 PLC is capable of casting the full range of Renishaw polyurethane resins. The system also benefits from Renishaw Vario Vac technology that allows highly viscous materials, such as silicone rubber, to be cast efficiently by applying differential pressure to rapidly force material into the mould.
The Morgan-Presses are versatile injection molding machines designed to reduce the costs of production. Cyclone is a purpose built machine for high speed data acquisition, used in conjunction with Renishaw’s Tracecut digitising software for reverse manufacturing. The machine can operate in a normal office/workshop environment for fast, unmanned scanning of unknown surfaces. It is of light weight construction, so very fast scanning speeds can be achieved.
