On March 25, the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering held its Distinguished Alumni Banquet at the University Club. Patricia Tuite, BSChE ’83, was recognized at the event as the 2026 Distinguished Alumna in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering.

“Patty’s connection to the University began as a child, when her father enrolled at Pitt to study engineering. As a reward for Patty’s good grades, he would take her to campus in the evening to run his Fortran computer punch cards,” said Steven Little, Distinguished Professor and Department Chair of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering.

“The seed her father planted grew into a career spanning more than four decades," Little added. "Today, she is one of the nation’s leading experts in power generation valuation and energy facility analysis. Her expertise spans virtually every energy technology you can name: nuclear, coal, hydroelectric, gas turbine, solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, and waste to energy.”
