On Thursday, April 10, the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering held its annual Distinguished Alumni Banquet at the University Club. Hosted by Michele Manuel, the U.S. Steel Dean of Engineering, and the Swanson School’s Office of Philanthropic and Alumni Engagement, the ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of remarkable alumni from the six departments and one for the entire Swanson School.
“I am honored to host my first Distinguished Alumni Award Banquet,” said Manuel. “This year’s cohort of Distinguished Alumni represent the very best qualities that we nurture at the Swanson School—creativity, risk-taking, persistence, compassion, curiosity. Their achievements and the impact they continue to have in our society are inspiring and serve as a testament to the history of this school.”
