CIS Supplements CRDF Small Grants
Supplement opportunity for FY 15 CRDF Program from the Center for Industry Studies
On February 17, 2014, Mark Redfern, Vice Provost for Research at the University of Pittsburgh, announced that the Center for Industry Studies (CIS) will provide supplemental funds up to $8,000 to augment awards granted through the Central Research Development Fund's (CRDF) Small Grant Program. CIS hopes the additional funds will encourage research collaboration between social scientists and engineers at the University of Pittsburgh.
The primary goal of the CRDF Small Grant Program is to enhance opportunities for faculty, especially junior faculty, at the University of Pittsburgh to engage in high-quality research, scholarship, and creative endeavors. The program is intended to provide funding support that cannot be obtained from other sources. CRDF Small Grants provide seed funding up to $16,000 to develop ideas to the point where external funding can be obtained, and support scholarship in areas where external funding is extremely limited. The CIS supplement increases the maximum award to $24,000.
To be eligible for this supplement, proposals must be successful in receiving a CRDF Small Grant and must include substantial research collaboration between social scientists and engineers. No additional application materials are required. All proposals that meet the above criteria will be considered for Center for Industry Studies supplements. Contact Mike Deal (firstname.lastname@example.org), if you have any questions regarding these supplemental grants.
