Major: Mechanical Engineering
Hometown: Lancaster, PA
High School: Lancaster Mennonite High School
Why you chose Pitt:
Initially I was drawn to Pitt because of the excellent engineering program, awesome location and strong reputation. But, what really made Pitt stand out for me was the people here- the welcoming atmosphere and overall great vibe I got from all the students when visiting campus.
Advice to a First Year Engineering Student:
Take advantage of all the clubs, organizations and extracurriculars that are available to you through Pitt. Professors are more than happy to be flexible with your classes to help you get involved, because they know the value of getting involved outside the classroom! Also, take advantage of the co-op program. Pitt has an excellent program, and participating in it has benefitted me greatly.
Extracurricular involvement and Future Goals:
Pitt Club Triathlon, Pitt Human Powered Vehicle Club, 3 co-op rotations at MSA Safety. After undergrad I am hoping to pursue a graduate degree in computer science.
