Why I Chose Pitt

I was extremely lucky to find the school that had everything I wanted. I loved the urban campus and the close proximity to Pittsburgh. It was important to me that I didn't attend a school in the middle of nowhere! I wanted an engineering program within a large university that offered a wide variety of career options and types of people. I love sports, so the school spirit I felt when I first stepped on campus was so exciting. It was easy to see how truly happy everyone was to be a Pitt student, and I immediately wanted to join that community.

Advice to First Year Engineering Students

Don't be afraid to reach out and ask for help. Form study groups, attend review sessions, schedule tutoring and go to the help centers. Time management is key!

Extracurricular involvement

I have completed one rotation as a co-op student with The Dow Chemical Company and will be returning in the spring of 2016 for my second rotation. After my freshman year, I went to Germany as part of the Plus3 program (highly recommended!!). I am currently on the executive board of Pitt's chapter of Phi Sigma Rho, the national engineering social sorority. I was a choreographer for Pitt's Hip Hop Dance Crew during my freshman and sophomore years.
