Pitt | Swanson Engineering

Major: Mechanical Engineering
Hometown: Erie, PA
High School: McDowell High School

Why you chose Pitt:

My brother went here before me and I saw all the success and fun he had and decided to give it a try. I also love the city of Pittsburgh, go Pens!

Advice to a First Year Engineering Student:

Adjusting to the course load that comes to being in engineering is difficult and you’re going to make mistakes, but as time goes on you learn how to study and manage your time better than anyone. The courses get harder, but you get smarter!

Extracurricular involvement and Future Goals:

I am a member of Pitt Club XC and train for marathons. I am also staring a club with some friends called Pitt Junk Karting, where you make your own go-kart and race it against the other members of the team. I am a first year engineering ambassador, and also a course grader. I have completed 3 co-op rotations at a company called Robinson Fans. My future goals are to get a job in industry, and some day work my way into management.
