Why you chose Pitt:
I loved the city of Pittsburgh, so it came down to Carnegie or Pitt for me. When I visited Carnegie, the vibe was more competitive then I liked. Pitt felt more like a family to me than any other college I had visited.
Advice to a First Year Engineering Student:
First, taking care of yourself is extremely important. Know when you need to take a break and don’t push yourself too hard. Second, try to find a support system that can help you handle the new challenges that come with college.
Extracurricular involvement and Future Goals:
I am on the leadership teams for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers as well as Brotherhood (the engineering diversity male forum). After I graduate in the spring I plan on interning at Microsoft for the summer, and then attending the University of Texas at Austin to receive my PhD.
