The CMI mission is to foster collaborations among engineers, clinicians, students, industry and others interested in advancing the translation of innovative biomedical technologies toward commercial realization.

Pitt’s Department of Bioengineering is ranked No. 5 among public graduate bioengineering programs and No. 18 among all universities (U.S. News and World Report) and offers a Professional Master of Science and Graduate Certificate in Medical Product Engineering in conjunction with CMI.
