The SSoE Technology Group is constantly reviewing the core business processes of the School, identifying opportunities to improve student experience, resources and management, to make research operations more efficient, to refining processes tied to student applications and recruitment and many other workflow/process challenges. Student Advising & Information Management -- Unified Student Record
The Unified Student Record is the first of its kind resource at the University of Pittsburgh, bringing together everything for/by/about our Engineering students in one secure, central record. Aimed at improving advising documentation and overall student management. In pilot phase through AY2014-15, it will be rolled out across Swanson in AY2015-16.

A trainee and faculty tracking system tailored to the reporting and monitoring requirements of NIH T32 training grants.
Single Source Faculty Information -- Faculty Information System (aka Digital Vita)
Pitt's Faculty Information System provides faculty with a secure, web-based resource for creating CVs, annual reviews, online profiles, and other documents important to academic careers (from my.pitt.edu site). Swanson has invested time and resources to getting all Faculty into the system and ensuring reporting and data integration value could be realized by faculty and the school.

User Surveys - CSSD Qualtrics
The Swanson School was an early adopter of the Qualtrics web based survey tool. Originally adopted and used by the EERC, Qualtrics is a web-based service that allows you to easily create a survey, collect and store data securely, analyze responses, and present results using professional-quality graphs. The University of Pittsburgh has a site license for the Qualtrics Survey Service. It is available to Pitt faculty, students, and staff at all campuses, at no cost. The service can be used to support teaching, academic research, and institutional business (from the CSSD web site).
