Research Interests

Culture of neural cells on microelectrode arrays, and the subsequent formation of a neural network that can be monitored by hundreds of electrodes at once has provided a means for researchers to capture some of the complexity of the nervous system on a more manageable scale.

The purpose of my research is to develop a local chemical release system and utilize it in cultured neural networks to affect individual cells or small cellular motifs.
