Product Realization Certificate

Are you a Pitt undergrad in the School of Engineering or the College of Business Administration? Are you looking for hands-on industry experience in bringing new products to life? Gain real world experience before you graduate!

For a Certificate in Product Realization, students take a total of five courses as follows.

Students choose at least one of the following College of Business Administration courses:

  • BUSERV 1985: Small Business Management
  • BUSMKT 1431: Product Development and Management

Students choose at least two of the following School of Engineering courses:

  • IE 1052: Manufacturing Systems Analysis
  • ME 1037: Manufacturing Quality Assessment
  • IE 1089: Rapid Prototyping and Reverse Engineering
  • ME 1038: Design for Manufacturing
  • ENGR 1195: Productronics

All students must take the following course to complete the Certificate:

  • ENGR 1050: Product Realization

Students may optionally go on to take an additional class within the Certificate:

  • ENGR 1051: Business Plan to Product Implementation
