About Dr. Shankar

Ravi Shankar joined the department in 2006 after receiving his PhD in industrial engineering from Purdue University. He received his BTech in mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology - Madras. Dr. Shankar's primary research interests include synthesis and thermo-mechanical characterization of nano-materials for structural and bio-medical applications. He is currently involved in the areas of large-scale manufacture of nano-materials by severe plastic deformation as well as development of thermally-stable, ductile nanostructured metal alloy systems.
