Why I Chose Pitt

My first college visit was at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering and I was blown away. I found that no college could match up to what Pitt had to offer. The city atmosphere was very welcoming and there is always something to do. From Pirates games to dinner in Southside, I would never be bored. Pitt's engineering program, especially the freshman experience, was one that could not be matched by any other school.

Advice to First Year Engineering Students

In your first year, get involved in various clubs and activities early. You should work to become a leader in that group while also taking advantage of everything your school has to offer such as Co-Op, studying abroad, and professional groups. Take the time to get the most out of your education and build yourself into a great job candidate. Make sure to go out and meet new people within and outside of your major.
