Why I Chose Pitt
I chose Pitt because of the great reputation of the Swanson School of Engineering. I was also drawn to the Formula SAE program here, on the recommendation of some older friends. Having the city so close is a nice bonus as well. There's always something cool to do and you have no excuse to be bored.
Advice to First-Year Engineering Student
Get involved on campus outside of class. Everyone needs a break from class sometimes, especially your first year, and it's the best way to make friends that you'll keep all through college. Also seriously consider living in the engineering dorms; it makes your first year that much easier when people going through the same thing as you are around all the time.
I am a member of the Electronics and Data Acquisition division of Panther Racing, Pitt's Formula SAE team. I am also a member of the Society of Women Engineers and the United States Institute for Theater Technology. I am completing the co-op program with Eaton in their Electrical Sector.
