Why you chose Pitt:

I chose Pitt because I liked the campus feel with the added benefit of being in a city with many large companies and hospitals nearby. Pitt’s engineering reputation along with the huge amount of school spirit fostered the kind of environment that I really could see myself living in for the next four years.

Advice to First Year Engineering Student:

Don’t be afraid if the plan you had when you came into college changes. It’s okay to change your major or your path without falling behind. Also, as corny as it sounds, believe in yourself. Even if a class or topic seems impossible, if you put in enough effort and ask for help, you can conquer it.

Extracurricular involvement and or Future Goals:

I am a sister in Chi Omega and a member of Material Advantage. I also play a wide variety of co-ed intramural sports from soccer to basketball to football. In the future I plan to apply my combination of material and bioengineering knowledge to design medical devices or prosthetics.
