Why you chose Pitt:

To me, Pitt was the perfect fit. I knew that I wanted to go into the engineering field, and I knew I wanted to stay within a 500 mile radius from Buffalo, after that, I really didn’t know much. When I visited Pitt, I was extremely impressed with how personable the students and faculty were, how accessible the tremendous amount of resources were on campus, and most of all how I felt more like a person, and less like a number. When traveling back to Buffalo after my visit and talking with my parents about what we all thought, we couldn’t think of anything wrong with Pitt.

Advice to First Year Engineering Student:

Don’t be afraid to get involved. Yes, everyone says this, but it's really the best advice. If you like soccer, then play pick-up and intramural soccer. If you play an instrument join the Jazz ensemble. If you like to make a difference in the SSOE, then join Engineering Student Council. You will instantly make friends, and those people at these clubs and activities will have the same interests you have.

Extracurricular involvement and or Future Goals:

Alex is excited to be a Student Ambassador in addition to being the E-Week Co-chair in Engineering Student Council, playing Trombone in the Pitt Jazz Ensemble, and being a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers student chapter at Pitt. Alex also enjoys playing intramural soccer and basketball with his friends.
