First Year Academic
Swanson School of Engineering

Do you want to know what courses and seminars you are required to take as a freshman? Do you want to check out the Freshman Engineering curriculum? Perhaps you want to find contact information for the freshman faculty members. If you have answered yes, you are at the right place. This section contains all the information mentioned above plus more. Use the menu on the Academic link to the left to find what you are looking for.

The science and general education requirements are the same regardless if you enter the First-Year Engineering Program as a First-Year or as a Transfer student. The ENGR 0011/0012 or 00711 courses are the traditional first-year sequence. For transfer students, instead of ENGR0011/0012 there are off-semester courses ENGR0015 and ENGR0016, ask the Coordinator for Transfer Student Services for more information.
