CMI announces the addition of Dr. Kilichan Gurleyik as Education Director
The Center for Medical Innovation and the Swanson School of Engineering welcome to the faculty Dr. Kilichan Gurleyik, Visiting Assistant Professor of Bioengineering and the new Associate Director of Educational Programs for CMI.
As a dynamic scientist, engineer, teacher and mentor, Dr. Kilichan Gurleyik has a diverse background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Science both in academic and industrial arena.
A native of Turkey, Kilichan is an alumnus of Dokuz Eylul University (BSEE 1991, DEU, Izmir, Turkey) and of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri (MS 1995, D.Sc. 2003).
He credits his teachers and past/present mentors for inspiring him to commit to education and is excited to have the opportunity to help cultivate young and upcoming engineers/entrepreneurs at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Gurleyik will be shaping/strengthening the Professional Masters in Bioengineering – Medical Product Engineering track and the Graduate Certificate in Medical Product Innovation. Both graduate programs are offered through the Department of Bioengineering within the Swanson School of Engineering.
